Here is the most confusing thing I have seen yet on ebenefits. These notices are all from today, appear simultaneously, and refer to the same claim.

Also, the status on VA vets.gov says the claim has moved back to: Evidence gathering, review, and decision. From, preparation for notification.

And best of all: No letters of any kind in the mail for this claim. Talk about being kept in the dark!

Has anyone ever had this happen on ebenefits? To be clear; my claim was at pending decision approval yesterday, and now today my claim is at under review. I know at pending decision approval they can send it back for more evidence, but doesn't the claim usually go back to gathering of evidence?

This may be a dumb question, and I know I shouldn't rely on EBenefits, but if my claim is in Prep for Notification, should the AB8 letter have changed if claim was granted?  Or does it update only after completion?

I filed my first claim back in Marc 2016 and received a 90%. I filed a second claim for a non service connected disability and received 10% with a effective date back to March 2016. I have just received a white notification letter with percentage of that 10%. Do I receive back pay for that single 10% disability dated back to the original claim effective date?

I am 100% P&T Ptsd, have been for 8 yrs.

When I die, do "all my dependent" benefits cancel, including Champva, which has been a trus life saver.

C&P exam performed, unfavorable, but many contradictions, claim went to prep for decision. I rebutted and shot holes in the Dr's opinion/rationale by quoting/ stating regulations/ laws and bringing up the fact that he changed my diagnosis from that of my local VAMC, said it was pre-existing, but did not address whether it was aggrivated by service.

Claim went back to gathering evidence.request 2 came out, which was a request to the same Dr for an opinion as to aggrivation. Again Dr stood his ground, but clearly contradicted himself. Claim immediately went back to prep for decision.

Again, I rebutted and shot holes in his response, quoting regulations/ laws and quoting past appeals findings in regard to similar cases.

Claim went back to gathering evidence.

Monday, still gathering evidence, but reading requested docs past due. called Peggy, no information needed.

Tuesday my claim moved to prep for decision again and showing new Request  3 - No longer needed, under which it reads Secondary Action Required.

 

Now, I will assume that this , although under the header "Required from You", is an internal request requesting additional oversight from someone.....likely because I'm a pain in the ass that keeps throwing wrenches into the C&P docs babble, quoting regs/ excerpts from VA training manuals and past appeals decisions, and their the Dr clearly (even to a complete idiot like myself) destroys his own arguments with contradictory statements.

So, my question is, from the much more experienced folks here that have spent time in the VA's offices......is the "Secondary Action Needed" likely an internal request for close scrutiny? Peggy said it was saying it needed a second signature, but I'm assuming  not for retro , but for dotting I's and T's?

I have always long on to myhealthvet  and then clicked on ebenefits to long in

This new Design they have  ebenefits is no where to be found.

so how do you get to e benefits?

Hello my name is christopher, I had my first disability claim completed, and in the process I was instructed by the claim that to file for something else based on the exam, and I was diagnosed with sleep apnea before I left the service.  This was september 14 2017, and it's now october 2 2017 and my claim is no where to be found.  I went to the local VA in el paso and utilized a USO to help me file the claim.  Maybe I forgot something but I thought he told me the claim was filed, and I would receive a letter that I had intended to file.  Is their anything else I should be doing because I don't see it on ebenefits, although I do see an intent to file claim which appearantly is online....but no other details.  Any suggestions, or should I just wait?

To rate retro back pay does your claim have to have been in the appeal process. For example.. I just got 70% for PTSD for my current claim I submitted 5/25/17

However, I submitted a claim for PTSD in 11/15/2010 and was denied. I did not appeal that decision so that claim was closed. 

Do I rate retro back pay and if so, for which date?

I have a claim pending with a C&P scheduled for Tuesday morning I made a mistake and filed an additional claim on Friday and then got this message on my new claim (#2) about it being consolidated with the other claim:

Additionally, to add to my screwups, I accidently uploaded the wrong civilian medical form to this new claim. I see I can add the correct form after the fact but I prefer to just delete the claim and let my original one be processed on it's own. I have been all over ebenefits trying to see how to delete a claim but I dont see how to....any tips? Thanks

claim got closed back in july because they didnt tell me about a c p exam.. got it repopened.. its over 1 year so i think that makes it top list.. 12 of october to 7 november.. cant stop checking it, been a month since c n p.. I'm guessing anyday, im living overseas and i hate ebenefits wont let u read the leatter.. mail takes 14 to 20 days. I guess if i get money in my account i'll know before the paper work comes? any feedback.. i know noone probably knows

I'm confused and I hope someone can help me.  I'm looking for an answer to which documents the VA wants me to submit.  I looked at the status of my CUE and found that there is a request for documents but they don't say which ones.  Please see the attached pic of what I'm seeing.  The text is "Automated 5103 Notice Response".

I'll try to make this as short as possible with all of the info. Husbands info granted 60% for ptsd back in 2011 filed appeal using an attorney his ptsd has become so bad (medicated and lots of trips to the psych's) he resigned from his job which coincidentally was with the VAMC. His attorney isn't worth a crap so I took over and managed to get him increased to 70% in march ( I faxed hardship letter and supporting doc's in feb and 3 weeks later he received the increase.) His appeal finally went in front of VA law judge and we received a determination that He should have been rated at 70% from 2011 and in the words of the document the veterans appears to have been eligible for TDIU recommend veteran files form 21-8940 so I filled it out and uploaded it as requested on ebenefits along with the other forms they required last work place and some more medical files from the civilian hospital I had to commit him to because the VA didn't have a bed. Now they asked for the forms to be completed before Oct 12 2017 I finished everything double checked and uploaded all the requested information and forms. 10 days ago it went from under review to pending decision approval, yesterday I logged in to see if anything had changed and where it all was under manage claims there are no open claims now and under pending disabilities it is also gone and has not been moved to historical claims...any ideas?  Thank you

I have been a long time reader of this group, and its kept my hope up, and shared some happiness knowing others are getting the help they need. Well here is my long story short, i filed for benefits aproximately 12 years after my initial contract, and only 6 years after I was discharged from beimg recalled.  I did my paper work, and only claimed issues that truly happened while I was in the Army, and everything corresponded with my medical records. Everything was denied, except tinnitus. Which I was expecting from all the stories I read. So i filed my nod.  Fast forward to 6 months ago I finally got to see my first doctors.  3 in one day.  Each one agreed it was service related and told me what was written. My appeal moved around for two days it got all the way to notification, and then back to preparation for decision, and no movement since.  Well 2 days ago it completely disappeared.  Nothing pending. Nothing in va letter, no new disabilities, no pending disabilities just completely gone.  So I called the VA and they said it is still open, didnt really say why it wasnt there.  Has anyone had this happen to them? If so what was your outcome.  Just for additional info depending how things are gauged, but the doctors recommended 50 on item, while i had 4 other serious injuries that they confirmed relation to service. Am I stressing over nothing? Thank you for reading, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am 60% service connected and have had diabetes type 2 for about 9 years.  I've been having erection problems for about 15 years and have tried all the pills, all the shots/injections, and a pump as well yet nothing happened.  I just recently went on blood pressure meds.  Is it possible for me to file a new claim and get a readjustment to my 60%? I am within 1 month of being 64.  I am also on daily aspirin therapy due to several blood clots since 1995.  What should I do?  Should I file a claim or what?
